Wanting to catfish mussel beds on tennessee River below Pickwick near shiloh . Where would I put in ? Fished this with my dad 40rs. ago . Want to take my sons there this summer . We may have been closer to the pickwick dam as it has been a while back . We floated back and bounced the bottom . Do any still fish this way ?

Coach I use to live there so I know a little about that area. Just put in at the dam. Run down river to where you see the park start there on the left. Start your drift right there, and just touch the bottom every few seconds. Do this drift till you past the catfish restaurant on same side as the park. Crank up and do it all over again. It's a lot of rocks on the bottom of the river right there, and that's where the fish are. We just used night crawlers and always done pretty good on 10 pound test mono. line. Try to pick a hot day so they will be running the generators, it does make a big difference in the bite.
If yall want to eat a bite, there use to be a place in Counce called the RED HUT, pretty good grub.
You also can stop and talk to Roger Gant at his service station, he's a great guy.
    Good Luck.....

There is also a ramp right before you go over the river heading into Savannah. If you are wanting to fish below the dam, get some shad guts and run up into the boils and float back.
