Default New tackle shop opening in Bartlett

For anyone who might be interested, there is a new tackle shop opening in Bartlett TN soon. I know we have a few that post here that live in Bartlett. Its on Stage in the old shopping center where Holliday flowers is located. They are not open yet but I was walking by and stopped and looked through the window when I saw all the tackle and the guy invited me in to look around. He is a bass guy but he has hooked up with Crappieholic and had some of their shirts already on display and said he will have plenty of Crappie gear.

He is planning on having seminars and some other neat stuff once he opens. I'm kinda loyal to Gator Brown's but I'll likely give this guy some business too. Seemed like a good dude and is very enthusiastic about some of the things he has planned to offer to the local fishermen. He didn't have a sign up that I noticed and I didn't think to ask what the name of the store will be once he opens.

I know the location. I used to take hwy 64 exit going to VA so to bypass the 240 roadwork near BPS. Keep us informed.

I've only tried it a couple times and so far it does not seem like they have come shallow yet. I haven't tried it in the last week or so since we have had several consecutive days of warm weather though, I'll probably give it a shot this weekend. I took next week off, I'm probably going to try out either Herb Parsons or Glen Springs or maybe both. I found a cove on Glen Springs last spring that was loaded with crappie I've been itching to get back to this year and there is a spot on the levee at Herb Parsons where there's an old road bed where I have worn them out in the early spring in the past. I think when the sun hits the rocks on the levee it warms the water and that draws in early spawners.

I've caught a lot of crappie at Herb Parsons in the past, but have not been out there yet this year. My biggest problem before was I could catch them but couldn't keep them, size limit used to be 10 inches and all the fish I would catch would be in the 6-9 inch range. I started going out there again after they dropped the size limit down to 8 inches a few years ago and have managed to take a few good messes home. I have a friend of a friend who is a TWRA ranger out there so I usually get word when they are biting good.

MorganT69, up until last year I could go there just about anytime and catch some crappie single poleing. Don't know why, but have not been able to get on them last spring or this one. I have caught many, but only 2 that were 10 inches.
