Good job you put in some miles on those 2 trips
Fished Caney Creek and White's Creek today. Caught 3 in Caney by trolling grubs in 17 FOW. Moved to White's Creek and caught about 15 on some deeper brush in 25-30 FOW with minnows, had 7 keepers all together with the biggest 15 1/2". Almost all were males except the biggest one.
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.
Good job you put in some miles on those 2 trips
Yeah it didn't seem all that far on the map but about halfway there I realized it was.
YEP !! That's pretty much a 18mi trip ... one way.
I sometimes make the run from Whites Creek to Piney ... and that's almost a 15mi trip (one way).
(makes me glad gas is back down to the $2/gal range )

Pappy- have you crappie fished much in Piney river? I stayed in one of the cabins at spring city boat dock last year with the wife and kids. It seems like a nice area but I didn't crappie fish while we were there.
We've been in that area a few times, in the past. We stayed at Piney Point Resort once, in the Fall, years & years ago ... but, we haven't really fished the Piney River/Muddy Creek/Wolf Creek area. We only stayed at Piney Point because Arrowhead was closed for the season. Arrowhead Marina/Resort is our normal lodging place.

Good report.
Thanks for the report MJohnson. Looking forward to my annual trip down to Watts in a couple of weeks. Hope to hit the spawn, but who knows? Like I always say, "on a boat with my friends is what its all about, catching crappie is a bonus!"
If anyone has updates please keep posting. Thanks again for the report.
Very nice
And with that, I'll see you on the water...
John
