    Default Sauger smackdown

Had four good days of fishing while home. Caught two limits each day for best Sauger fishing I've ever had! The old bar runners where doing it!!

They really where man! 17in average fish with lots of 18-19 3/4 being biggest. 40 fish made 8 gallons of fillets. The first 40 made 4 gallons fillets.

I caught a 19" sauger a couple of years a ago pulling cranks for crappie on KY Lake. It came off a hump that was 6 feet with 20 feet around it. That was the last place I would have ever looked for sauger on a July afternoon. It was only the 2nd of that size I've been lucky enough to boat.

Great catch and lots of good eatin.

Great catch, I've never caught sauger before I heard they taste as good as crappie, so is this the time of year to get em?
