Nice catch and report.
Went fishing with RCP this morning. We pulled cranks in creeks and managed 15 keepers by noon. We caught a lot of fish but it was a ratio of 3 shorts to every keeper. All in all, a good morning to be on the water.
I used this bunch of fish to sharpen my filleting skills with a knife instead of always using the electric knife. It took a little longer than normal and some of the fillets had varying thickness (lol) but a good skill to know anyway.

Definitely a good day. Congrats
GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
I'm picking up 5-10 per trip to Ft. Loudoun. I am also noticing a higher ratio of shorts, but also some that are bigger than the checker. I am taking shorter trips, and trying my best to avoid the pleasure boat crowd! I really want to try pulling cranks. I have not caught a crappie on a crank, but those that do seem to do well. Great catch!

Good day. Congrats
Life is good. Fishing is better.
Good job. and good pix
ET Fish- We are novice at best with our crankbait knowledge. We troll a variety of cranks ( bandits, strike king, rapala) and colors until the fish tell us what they want. Our depth control consists of one good cast, a good cast with 1 sweep, and a good cast with 2 sweeps until we dial in on which depth their hitting at. We also start trolling at 1.5 mphs and adjust as needed, usually faster than slower. Six rods is all we can manage at the same time. Hope this helps.
Question for anyone? I have been doing a little research on pushing cranks with our spider rigging equipment. Does anyone know a good way to rig the rods. Can I use bandit 300's? What size weight, lb test line, trolling speed, etc? Is it more productive than pulling? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the info! I have the equipment to start, but it is just like spider rigging and long lining. I start, get frustrated, and go back to single rod. It is time to bite the bullet and put in the time on each of these techniques.
