Default Possible trip to lake tansi.....Can I get some feedback

My wife keeps changing her mind on where to go for summer vacation. Can I get some help for this lake in July. How is the crappie and bluegill fishing.

    Thanks in advance

Look on Google Earth just south and a little west of Crossville, Tn. There you will find Lake Tansi. This would not be my choice for fishing for many specie as it is at best 1.5 miles in length. It is probably good for bulegill and the the like. If you stay there, it is rated pretty good on hospitality and golf in the area. You probably should look to larger lakes on the Tennessee river for better fishing. Just south on 68 you will come to the TN river and 68 crosses the Watts Bar Dam. Below the dam is Chickamauga lake and both Watts Bar and Cickamauga are good fishing. There are some good guides on these lakes. Google and see what you get. Good luck and enjoy your vacation.

TN Hooker.....thanks for the info. Looked at google earth. About 25mins from where I am staying. I could swing down there if I get bored at the little pond. Watts Bar Dam looks nice. I was thinking going into Spring City and putting into the lake.
    Any other info......would be great!

Got a few gills from the public fishing pier with kids last summer. They have some funny boat rules (being private), I was unsure what it would take to get my kayak legal, so I didn't take it. Saw several other boats that were fishing. In addition to Chickamauga and Watts Bar, you also have Center Hill to the west.

You could stay at the Fall Creek Falls State Park cabins or the cabins at Cumberland State Park in Crossville. I think there is pretty good fishing at Fall Creek Falls with cabins on the water. Fall Creek Falls is farther south in the mountains from Crossville. There is Cumberland County Play House in Crossville if you need some cultural time with the wife. They do a good job at the play house and good luck.
