Default I think I might have messed on the date. Uh, When is the spawn.

Hello folks. I think I might have messed up on the time of the year that we (father brother and I) are coming down. We have resverations for easter weekend which is around april 24 or so. Well in talking with my brother he though maybe we will be going way to late like maybe a month to late. We mostly jig fish or minnow and bobber. No spider of anything fancy like that.

So my question to you kind folks is, when is the crappie spawn and when would be a good time to be on the lake?

    Thanks for the guidance
    Clint

Lots of boats on the lake that time of the year. A few years back, so many boats (full of fat folks) that the water rose and spilled over the dam because of the water displacement.

Normally I would say you'll be fine, but if the lake doesn't rise, it will warm up quicker than usual and you *may* miss the best part of the spawn. That said, it's Reelfoot. You can catch crappie year round.

Well thats what I was hoping for. Yea I did think about the water temp being up. Well like you said it is reelfoot and as long as we are catching em thats ok with me.

    Thanks again
