    Default Gatlinburg Trout

Hello from Indiana, Hey Guys Im headed to gatlinburg for a family trip and will be staying in gatlinburg. I plan on doing some trout fishing in the river there. Any tips or any advice would be great. Ive never fished for trout before. We go to gatlinburg about 2 to 3 times a year and this will be the first for the fishing. Im leaving at 5am in the morning. We also plan to do some tubing in townsend area. Thanks for an info! Brad

I always get a small hook with a long shank tie your hook use 4lb test line put a small splitshot about 6 inches above the hook then move up about 4 inches & put another small splitshot get you some red worms hook it in the center where it can wiggle then put a kernel of corn on. Throw it out upstream & let it drift back down pay close attention to your line. Good luck. Tags.

on the spinners you can"t go wrong with black rooster tail if the water is clear
try a silver blade if it has some color try a gold blade on the rooster tail
there is some really good fishing right in gatlingurg
hope you have a great trip

Nice fishing right in town. Just do not hook a tourist! I like the silver rooster tails with white tail and 4 lb line. They will nail it.

I'll be up in Pigeon Forge for a weekend in Sept. Gonna fish the tailwaters of Douglas Dam plus maybe trout fish around Gatlinburg.

Are there any restrictions in the fishing regulations in Gatlinburg? Treble hooks, barbless hook, live bait etc?
