White in clear water chartreuse in stained water. I like the Rattlin Pear floats.

    Goob:

I use a small weighted round foam float when fishing with a 1/32 hair jig like the "Popeye" jigs that wally world and Dicks and Gander Mountain carry. The weighted float let you cast the small fly much further. Keep your jig close to the wood piers on the docks..and close around any underwater brush or trees that you can see. You will also get a lot of bonus bluegills when fishing this way...and I almost always use a "Crappie Nibble" to give the jig some flavor. Get them at the same place you get the jig , usually. Good Luck...see you around Concord !

Yep, you can get the Popeye flies at Walmart for 2/$1.50 but they had them marked down to 2/$1 for a while a month or two ago. I caught bunches of bluegill and a few crappie Thur and Fri on the 1/64 oz Popeye in white. Another good jig fly is the Zoom marabou jigs. These can be bought at Walmart 10 for $1.36. A pack of white, yellow, and chartreuse is all you need. I've been using 4 lb test mono on a Shakespeare Microlight and Daiwa ultralight combos. A 10" crappie or an 8" to 9" bluegill will really give an account for itself on thesr light rigs.
