Whats the best bass and crappie fishing lake in Tennessee right now?

I say Kentucky Lake , just because I live 1 mile from KY Lake, and I catch some pretty good fish there.

What lake do you think is the best?
I live 10 miles from the 160,000 acre Kentucky Lake, and the 57,000 acre Barkley Lake is within 25 miles of my house. I live 10 miles from 220,000 acres of Water.

I live in an Outdoor Paradise

Ha! I grew up going to Bedford with my Grandad and it was always my favorite. Has not been any count for me since they have had the water problems the last few years.

Overall, I say Chickamauga, Reelfoot, or KY Lake. Too many choices.

I talked to the people at work doing the fish surveys and they said Chickamauga is as healthy as they have seen it in 20 years.

Top reservoirs in each category (numbers of fish)

    • Ft Loudoun reservoir had the most Smallmouth bass (152)
    • Parksville reservoir had the most Spotted bass (306)
    • Ft Loudoun reservoir had the most Largemouth bass (1,262)
    • Chickamauga reservoir had the most crappie (519)
    • Watts Bar reservoir had the most White crappie (198)
    • Chickamauga reservoir had the most Black crappie (508)
    • Ft Loudoun reservoir had the most fish sampled (1,658)
    • Guntersville reservoir had the most Largemouth bass over 4 pounds (87)
    • Chickamauga and Guntersville reservoirs had the most Largemouth bass 5 pounds and over (35 and 26)

Hey Coach,I had a blast over there last years with good crappie and bass. I live in franklin county and go to Bedford Lake quite a bit in the summer to get away from the jetskies and pleasure boaters on Tims and Woods.

Naturally my vote is for Reelfoot...I grew up fishing on KY Lake and Big Sandy...moved to the Reelfoot area and have fell in love with this place. You can catch some really good bass and crappie and enjoy some of the best scenery around. Just my .02:-)
