YEARS ago, when I was a kid fishing with my dad at West Sandy, we had been anchored out for the majority of the day, watching as this guy blasted back an forth, from one end to the other, with no apparent purpose other than to churn up the water. He was in one of those old (new back then) Hydro Sport bass boats, and it would scream. We were in a 12' Alumacraft v-bottom and felt as though we were on a carnival ride.

At one point, this joker blasted past another post, that was anchored nearby. One of the guys in the anchored boat yelled a few choice words at the guy, who stood up behind the console of his bass boat, yelled back, and flipped the other boater off, over his shoulder. Just as he turned back around, the plastic lid flew off his cooler and smacked him right in the face. Sounded like a gun shot. He didn't stick around for us to see if anything was broken, but that was one of the funniest things I had ever seen.

I have since, on numerous occasions, caught myself wishing that the lid would fly off of some joker's cooler!!! :D

People planing out all around me, people running half cocked all around me, rental boats full of real nice yankees with a couple casting rods riding around with the 6 horse motors stopping every 100 yards casting and casting in wide open water with no clue then scooting over another 100 yards. First time I can remeber not even feeling like fishing. I packed up with about 1.5 hours of fishing time in. What did I do??? I got my rig up on pane and road around the lake like everyone else was doing just wasting gas. I felt better riding around than i did fishing. Its starting to get to the point I really dont give a crap about fishing at Reelfoot. Would much rather be in a river bed somewhere by myself. When they hit the banks real good i will be back out there cause boat traffic wont bother me where I will be fishing. River is on a slow rise, my oxbows are just right. bet you i learn to fish reelfoot in the heat of the summer this year. Im not getting out there with the yahoos trying to troll with my rods bouncing 3 feet in the air. And in the winter time when the snitches tell where the fish are and everyone is fishing on top of each other I will figure something else out then too.

yall can have it.... my rant is over :D
oh so now i see how you really feel about us yankee's, damm i was feeling almost like a redneck to .i was gonna ask you to take me out fishing but now i am afraid you might toss me over board.

yes common courtesy is not so common and its not only here and on our lakes. Its on the road , Boat ramps, Campgrounds, fairgrounds, stores and just about any other place you can think of. What a shame my daddy gave me all those spank-ins for nothing because behavin is not such a big deal these days. Well just know this. If you think its bad here try another state with a larger population. I am happy to be here and enjoy the face that most of the time things are just about right except the bite...

I had one of those Reelfoot moments one day this week. It was actually a nice day with not to many boats were I was fishing. Then here comes this idiot at about half throttle right at me. He does a horseshoe around me at 25 yards and comes to a stop about 75 yards away. I have a big heavy 20 ft boat and the wave was so bad that water came over the front and the poles bounced so bad that one of them broke. I do not think that I have ever been that mad on the lake. Needless to say, they got a piece of my mind. They must of known or did not care that they were idiots because they never responded to my lashing. I just do not understand some people.

Instead of taking my 12 ga, loaded with #9 birdshot, I think I will buy me one of them cute little air horns. so if you are on douglas this spring and hear a long blast or two you will know what happened.
