Nope, dont really camp at all..Most members live close enough to just drive over for the day..No need to go to meetings if you cant make it...THose of us that dont go just cant complain about lakes we fish or rules change since we werent there to vote..No biggie though..

    CAMPING
Camping is an option, not many members do it I think. Luke failed to mention our camping trip to Shelbyville before a tournament. Coons were bad, got into minnows, beer cans, and Luke's chips for the weekend ended up 20ft up in a tree. We don't camp anymore.

I dont mind the coon's. They are part of camping and I know how to stop them from stealing my food and bait.

Im not about to drive an hour to Springfield and an hour home for a meeting. Thats a $50 trip for a 1hr meeting. I do have a problem paying my dues and not having my opinion included. Maybe Ill look for another club closer to home, or help someone else start one in the Peoria area.

Yeah, that is a downfall if you don't attend the meetings then you don't vote on officers or lakes or bi law changes.

I'm looking for member input on a club fundraiser idea. I'm thinking of a waypoint swap/exchange and it goes something like this. Any member interested puts a legitimate waypoint on a piece of paper. (This certainly won't be your best honey hole, but should be a legitimate piece of crappie structure. Should include GPS co-ordinates, lake it's on, general depth, and description. Along with your waypoint, you give $5.00??? to the club. In exchange you get to draw from the waypoint box, OR you could even put one waypoint in and in return get a list of everyone elses. Sooooo, if 10 members participate, you get an even exchange of waypoints, or you could get 9 waypoints for the price of one. The club get 10 x $5.00 or 50.00 and members get a bunch of new places to fish on lakes they're not so familiar with. This may be a stupid and naive idea, but I really think that everyone has something they could give up---plus the club makes money. CRAZY IDEA??? Please tweak this idea and make it better or let me know I'm just silly. Would be nice to do at the upcoming meeting.

That is a good idea, its that simple. Do all of the club members have gps and waypoints??? I have heard of this being done. I will send this link to the officers.

Not sure who has GPS, but the good thing about this is that it would be voluntary. Only members who want in on the "swap" would participate. I've mentioned the idea to Carlo and Jerry but one of the hard things to do in the club is to circulate ideas to all the members. I'm hoping some of our members read this forum and bring a waypoint. Hell, you wouldn't even need to attend the meeting, just send $5.00 and waypoint information with someone you trust. Thanks for sending the link to the officers and maybe we could get a simple explanation on the Springfield website.
