Yea I bought it for him a few years back. I figure a lever action is safer for his first gun. You got one shot and then have to reloaded, plus its got a hammer thats got to be cocked before it will fire.

    Default Pheasants

I realize that this is mostly deer hunting posts but some may be interested in our trip to Nebraska to hunt pheasant and ducks. First off, the duck hunting was lousy. The weather there which is normally very cold in November was the same as the weather in the Carolinas. The ducks were still mostly in Canada and ND. We hunted one day on the marsh at Niobrara NE and shot one duck. Never went back and started pheasant hunting. I have some pics but they were made with a throw-a-way camera and I don't expect you could enjoy them. Anyways one of us shot our limit on pheasants for six different days and bagged one or two birds each other day. In total we had 26 pheasants in 8 days of hunting. Our dogs were completely bushed and didn't stir on the way back home. It takes 27 hours each way. The trip out goes pretty fast but the trip back is the opposite, drags on forever it seems. The guy in the orange shirt is my buddy Eric. We have two labs that hunt both ducks and pheasants. The black lab is Max and chocolate is Pal.. .you can magnify the pics to get a better look if you want.
