I spoke with two NC and SC fisheries biologists today concerning some catfish matters and I threw out the turnover topic /striper kills as a sidebar. I got an in depth explanation of a lot of stuff concerning the summertime water temps and the fish kills that surround them. As always with these guys it was very informative and interesting.

Definatley 100% not a turnover, and this was from both of them.

The main thing to take away from all this is that no matter what it's called, it is something that repeats itself every year at around the same time. Take note of it and it is something you can add to your arsenal of knowledge.
