Its a great time for renewing the hunting spirit and getting to shoot your shotgun that's been in the case for several months. If you have a field to get on I highly recommend it.
That's some mightly fine shootin right there!

As much time as I spend in the woods, that's something I don't see too often.

I use to have a liver & white pointer & I swear , he was the best dog I had /have ever seen!! I could hunt ANYWHERE around my house on ANYBODYS land without even asking , small soybean fields were my favorite in the evenings after school . On the weekends I would Hunt Game managment roads , take the door off my CJ7 & turn him loose , we only hunted coveys & never went after the singles when hunting the gravel roads . Then when deer started get find there way around my house. farm land was leased out & no more hunting anywhere you wanted , and now, the small bean fields are planted pines ..... back to my Dog, his name was BOB & once after shooting a covey rise we went to hunt singles, he jumped a log & I SWEAR he pointed in MID AIR !!! once he hit the ground he slide to a stop with pine straw pushed up almost over his head !! I sure do miss him, he got gone while hunting one evening & we never found him till the next year, his bones were locked down on the bones of 14 quail !!POOR soul would not break a point to save his own life !! hehhehe

Yeah that was good shooting for me. I went back on Monday and shot 6 birds with 25 shells. Thats more to my average. My shooting eye had gone to the off mode from Saturday. Still had a good time as my grandson went with me on Monday. He also shot 6 so we a had a mess between us.
