    Tying a magnet to a rope and throwing into the lake to try snagging metal objects on bottom. Tons of videos on YouTube.

    Google it. SC underwater antiquities act does not allow it. Stupid I know! They think historical and war relics will be disturbed in the rivers and streams and they don't get first dibs. I bought my grandson one this past year. Our plan is to go
    to NC and get under a bridge and see what he can find. Good luck

    googled it because I was interested in trying it, and started seeing how it's illegal in SC but nowhere else..an old law on the books I'm guessing

    Fishing off of bridges is illegal in SC so magnet fishing would fall under the same law.

    Activities such as Magnet Fishing are prohibited in South Carolina waterways and SCIAA does not issue Hobby Licenses for this potentially destructive practice.
