    Default Clark Hill

Anyone planning on fishing the hill anytime soon please be careful. We crappie fished last and the trash and logs floating were the most ive seen in my 50 plus years of fishing here.
Thanks 91tiger thanked you for this post

Fishing the hill has been good for me the past month but this last rain did put trash all over and you could see the mud swirling in the water. The last 2 rains we had put 4" in my rain gauge. I had been marking fish scattered but was enough for long lining. My last trip marked very few. I just assume they were sitting on the bottom and not very eager to bite because I know they didnt completely leave the creek I was in. They'll turn on again as soon as they drop the lake a bit (a foot over full now) and the trash and mud dissipates some. Maybe the weekend warriors will wash the trash to the banks with all their ripping and running up and down the lake this weekend.

Been on the hill several days this week, with limited results. If they can get the water level regulated, the water temps were ranging from 55 to 59. No more rain expected till next weekend. Wind going to be westerly direction, next week. Yes, i am one that was brought up by grandpa, to believe....wind outta east fish bite the least, which it was all this week. Wind outta the west fish bite the best... if you go up broad river from bobby brown park toward the bridge plan on slow speeds. Broad river is full of logs and trash.

Another 1.1" of rain in my gauge from ;last night/this morning. This increases the total to 5.1" of rain the past 7 days or so.

That’s really interesting that the night bite was good in really dirty water. I’ve always assumed that heavy mud would really slow them down at night. I know when we would catch our herring at night (long time ago before bait shops sold herring), the bait would get really tough to catch in the heavy muddy water.
