    Default Livescope

Will Garmin live scope work in the muddy water like we have at Lake Wylie?

The mud had zero effect on LS yesterday on Wylie. Wylie is as bad as I’ve ever seen. Getting them to bite was a challenge. Every fish I caught saw my jig 10-25 times before I’d get a reaction.

Thank you all. I've had this live scope on my boat for near a month waiting on water to clear or wind to lay down. I've never been real good at catching crappie I hope this helps. I usually target striper.

Now is a good time to hone your skills. Pick a target out at 20-50 feet and cast your jig. Track the jig and try to get the jig to the target by controlling reel speed. Even if it’s a gizzard shad that won’t bite it’s still good practice for when you are sure the target is a crappie. Experienced LS users target big fish but when learning LS you want opportunities, really doesn’t matter the fish size. If you only target bigger fish you won’t have enough opportunities to really improve casting accuracy and speed control.

Doug, get the long rod out, and fish those fish vertically.

I did use my long rod but it looked like I was wrestling a drunk monkey. My shoulder told me it wasn’t enjoying the long rod pretty quick.
