Flying out for 8 days and flying in for 6 doesn't leave much time for fishing. I have to play catch up most of my days home and try to find some time to rest the old body.
The railroad is rough on the body.

Water temp is getting better but the bite hasn’t. Went fishing today and I couldn’t find any on brush from where the channel markers stop above 378 all the way down to Plumb Branch Yacht Club. Was looking in 25 ft or less and couldn’t find them.

I'm still around-kinda! I haven't fished as much this summer but getting ready to switch to daytime fishing. I'll get a trip a week, hopefully 2 trips a week weather permitting, should have most of the shenanigans out of the way soon.

I got tricked into a trip to Lake Norman this Saturday (Sorry for cheating on you SC guys). I was told the hybrids were schooling in unbelievable fashion. We went to the magic location and all we saw was wind and waves. At that point, it turned into a what else can we catch trip. We stopped at a few bridges and they all had crappie on them, but they were all little guys. After a little of that the guys wanted to catch some bass so that’s what we did catching about 6 before calling it a day.
For you guys who longline on Norman, the creeks are full of bait right now. It won’t be long until that pays dividends! Jus sayin….

Did you head back into the creeks any....say, half way back? With the water cooling the bait should be headed towards the back of the creek again. Then the fish should follow soon.
