Decided to fish shallow today. It’s definitely my weakness. Saw a lot of scattered fish. Was able to catch them but most were small. After getting in less than 10 feet I quit seeing any. Found a nice pile in about 13 feet that was loaded. Was able to get a limit and caught a bunch of white crappie. Got one nice one. Awesome Day!!Name: IMG_2528.jpg

My wife bought me a 13 foot ACC rod for Valentines Day, hadn’t caught a fish on it or even used it much. Today I was determined to catch some. Started to get the hang of boat flipping them. Then caught the nice White Crappie. Hummmm? Didn’t do too good trying to net it. My Buddy Brett was in his boat beside me so I maneuvered it to his net. It’s nice having a good netman even if they ain’t in the boat with ya!!!

The weatherman kept me at home all day today. Rain was in the forecast all the way up until 4:30PM. AND...it never rained more than a sprinkle. Pffffftttt!!!!!!

You'd thunk that by now I would have learned. Anyway...theres always tomorrow. Good reading your report. Sounds like a good day. Congrats.

It didn’t rain on me till I was about to quit. Didn’t rain hard. Didn’t put on my rain gear. Forgot to mention out of the 20 I cleaned I only had 8 females. The eggs still don’t look quite ready. Water temp 61 degrees. Did see some oak blooms in the water. That’s what I watch for to put them shallow.

You had a good catch, but you got to watch that net man. He may ask to see if your rod floats don't throw it in!
    Tell Brett I said hey!

I released the fish cause he wanted one of the filets and I didn’t wanna share. Is there a private joke about a floating rod?? Seems I remember something bout a floating net!Hahaha, wonder if CK remembers??

You know CK does! Pun is that you had no net in hand and Brett was with CK when he lost the floating net! Brett would likely say throw that rod and see if it floats!
