    Told ya those fish high in the water column will eat in that mud....just gotta knock em in the head lol

    Yep, didn’t see many super shallow and it’s hard to fish my 1/8 jig that shallow. I finally started casting past the fish and locating my jig and reeling fast to get it back up shallow then slow it down. I try to catch them at 50 feet. Your tip did help me. Thanks.

    Long rod, closer distance, and slightly lighter jig. Slows that pendulum way down. When the water is cold and muddy they can be hard to get to chase a bait, but if you can hold it above their head (12-15ft away from the boat), they'll often turn up and choke on it like they haven't eaten in 4 months, but bringing it by them won't garner a reaction. The more we learn the less we knew. I hated mud til last winter, now I love it as long as it isn't fresh (less than 24hrs).
