    Default Wateree Striper

Trolled wateree today for striper. Caught 22 and 4 catfish. Only kept 9 of the stripers that were 21" or bigger. All were caught between Colonels creek and June creek. Water temp was 70 degrees. Hope this is useful to someone. Good luck on the water and be safe.

I ran two down riggers with a rigs and four rods with tandem swimbaits. Most of the fish were caught on the a rigs.

The tandem swimbait rods are rigged with leadcore line. We had them running with 3 colors out.

Went to wateree again today. Caught 24 stripers and 2 white perch. All catch and release. My freezer is full. Fishing just for fun now and I like it knowing I don't have to clean any fish. Most of the fish caught on the leadcore lines today and all caught in the same area of the lake that the Friday fish were caught in.

I'd like to have a couple but I'm not going to chase them right now. My wife likes them baked. Soaked in lemon juice for a short time, seasoned with salt, pepper, Tony's Cajun seasoning and then breaded with House Autry. Remus told me this morning that today would have been a great day to go striper fishing, and you proved it.
We were chasing perch on Wylie.

They are getting active. Saw them come to the top schooling twice but they went back down before I could get to them with the trolling motor. Only stayed up a minute or so. Still fun to see. I plan to try them again next week. I'll report back if I do.

So you are pulling those downriggers and leadcore with your trolling motor? What speed have you been pulling? I don't fish Wateree but I do pull A rigs on Greenwood a lot which is a very similar lake.
