Decided to make a quick trip this morning just to see what's happening on the lake. The weather was nice being low 60's and no wind to speak of. When the sun came up it started warming up, but slowly which was nice. Water temp began at 76.7* before sunup. And only 3 other boats seen this morning.

Got on the water just after 7AM and headed to the fishing grounds. Got there, look around some not really seeing much besides some small bait balls but went ahead and put curly tail jigs out. Slow, like I stated, but would catch one occasionally. Size was good though as I used the net to land several of the fish I caught.

The bite I did see slowed quite a bit after 10AM (although there really wasnt a good bit anyway) so at 10:30 I decided to head home. I was having family coming in tonite and I had some things out Dad's to do today.

Anyway....final tally was 22 crappie caught but out of those 15 were 11" or better with the biggest of the day at 14" long. Overall I would rate today as a win especially with all the summer heat we've had along with all the jet ski and pontoon/pleasure boaters all summer long. I wasnt really expecting to go to the lake today and bring home fish to clean so that's a plus. Here's a few pictures of my trip.
