    Default Monticello 7-11-22

Finally, we got some nice weather so we headed to monticello. Wind was just right for drifting so that's how we started. At first, we tried cut herring but did not get many bites. Switched to shrimp & bite picked up. Nothing big but great size to eat. Caught about 24 then the wind quit so we dropped anchors to fish on the bottom in 50 to 70'. Again, the shrimp did better than cut herring. Could only fish with 1 rod, the bites came so fast. Got another 18 small blues. Left them biting since we had plenty to clean.

Missed a lot of fish, probally cause they were so small.

Loaded up about 1:30 for drive home.

That's alot of catfish to clean but those small ones are just right for eating off the bone. Congrats on a GOOD days fishing.

Me and the Raccoon did well with Asian mart shrimp at Monty one time. The slimers didn't want frozen bream.
