Bubba is getting good at catching them fish
Me & Bubba lit out about 4:30am for the long drive and Bubba took advantage of it and got in a good nap. We were launching the boat about daybreak and anxious to get the jigs in the water. It was slightly overcast and light winds were predicted, perfect conditions for the area of the lake we were fishing. It didn't take long to figure out what they wanted and before long we had grass shrimp jigs tied on most of the rods. We even pulled some double shrimp rigs to target the deeper fish. We ran into Gabowman at the ramp and got to see him in action too! Always good to see old friends out on the water...Attachment 427587About mid morning Bubba decided he needed another nap and laid down in the back of the boat, the fish continued feeding and I had to watch all 10 rods now. We trolled until about 11am and knowing we had plenty of fish to clean and a long drive ahead of us, decided to pack it up. On the way home we stopped by the "Ain't It Guud Cafe" and had some chicken fingers and hot dogs. Bubba finally got full and we hit the road again. It was a great morning on the water and I'm thankful to be able to make these memories with my grandson.

Keith, love these reports and pictures with you fishing with your grandson. Brings back many memories of going with my grandsons when they were that age. The one that fished the most with me is 20 now but he has never and will never forget all those hours spent together in the outdoors pulling in those crappie. It goes by so quickly

Great post, thank you for the morning smile while reading it. Great pictures and some nice-looking crappies caught.
Now if I could only get me a sample pack of those jigs
Dawg, with 4 grandkids I hardly have time to tie the ones that are sold....but, I guarantee them to catch fish if grass shrimp are present.

Keith, as always, it's alot of fun hooking up with you guys chasing those elusive crappies. And most times between the two of us we can figure out something that works to put a few in the boat. Bubba has come along ways fishing and looks to be a perfect partner in the boat now. Shouldnt be long now before I actually see him driving the boat chauffeuring you around the lake. HA!
Lots of memories for you guys in this post. Lots of pictures of you and Bubba catching some good fish and enjoyig the day together. A full belly on the ride home and I bet Bubba was ready to finish that nap he took earlier too. LOL Maybe we can hook up again this year before the weather/water gets too hot for this old man to go again.
