Have caught a lot of fish near the campground in the past, however, there is a lot more pressure on this area now than in the past. You can cross the lake and fish Pistol or Newford creeks also. Good luck!

There seems to be a lot more pressure everywhere on Clarks Hill these days. It picked up during the pandemic and still seems to be high. One thing I have seen is a lot more people out long-lining these days. A few years ago when I started doing it, I rarely saw someone else doing it. Now it is more rare if I don't see someone else doing it and often several boats.
The lake is still about a foot above full pool with more rain expected tomorrow. It is also pretty stained in some places. The pollen is still pretty bad but maybe this next rain will get a lot of what is left. I am not sure when the OP's spring break is but next week is Master's week in Augusta and a lot of the locals will also be off for spring break and leaving town to head for the lake so their will be particularly heavy fishing pressure that week.

Seems like I'll need it and it'll be the week of the 10th

Found my lake maps not the best condition, guess I'll be getting some new ones next time I go to sportsman's in iva.

You may know this already but that part
of the lake is extremely stumpy. Even out in deep water. There were a ton of trees that were just topped as the lake was filling and are still standing all over the place off the main channel out there. With the lake as high as it is you may not see them but they are there. Honestly I’m not sure of the exact level
wjere they really start showing up at the surface. But wanted to offer a word of warning.

We're they topped just recently. Thx for the heads up, guess they didn't mark those area when they did it

Just a heads up, but the lake just got 5 inches of rain in the last 3 days. The level is 3.5 ft above full pooland still rising. I am sure they will try to let it out as the river downstream allows but I am not sure how long that will take. Until then, expect some boat ramps to be potentially be difficult with the level up to the flat part. Also expect service docks to potentially have a foot or two of water to wade through to get to it. Also expect the lake to have a lot floating debris and I am sure it will be muddy in a lot of places.
