    Default Late start today

Met Uncle Remus at Ebenezer Park and launched the pontoon for an all-afternoon fishing trip. Saw Mr. Charles as he was leaving BD creek. Then came the DA, I thought I had put the remote on the pontoon, so we turned around and hauled butt back to the ramp only to get to the Island in front of the ramp and discover the bag with the remote laying up front beside the trolling motor. So, we turned around and got back to BD creek and got started catching as soon as we got lines in the water. Idea was to have one steer the boat the other man run the rods. No flipping coins or any discussion I took charge of the remote and Uncle Remus was catcher, bait man and net man and boat runner to lift rods. All I had to do was steer into the wind and holler out depths and when fish were sighted on the depth finder. We had 53 on the clicker and I know I missed a few clicks due to the mass catching going on. I did get to watch two rods up front and caught a couple here and there while Remus watched several other rods. Minnows and jigs tipped with minnows was preferred bait choice. We fished until dark with a few lull spots here and there. Wind was our challenge which is nothing new to Remus and I. Seems that is our favorite times. Lucky for us we have great trolling motors that fight hard to stay in the game. I believe we had 17 crappie and 14 large white perch make the ride to Clover tonight. Had a few crappies over a pound and a half and the others were good 10-to-12-inch fish. Everything else went back in. It was a tough evening to fish, and most others were not out there fishing in the wind. Only saw two bass fishermen come into the creek and one pleasure boat. Thanks Uncle Remus for going fishing with the other crazy guy. I had a good time with you talking about the fish and the mad world we live in. We will do it again soon.

I fished the wind in my pontoon yesterday afternoon as well. Got lines in about 3:30. I stayed in smaller coves instead of major creeks. I was alone so you can imagine the work involved with the wind and the fish fighting. Caught many fish and took home a limit. I also caught them on jigs and minnows.
