    Default Crappie Impersonator


    Caught this on a pink curly tail from dock tonite

    Appears to be a blue catfish?

    18” long. fought like a northern pike .

    Good eatin?

    Looks like a channel cat. They are good eatin. If I'm gonna eat wild catfish I prefer blues.

    I used to think there wasnt any other kind of fish better than fried catfish.................then I started crappie fishing. Just be sure to cut any red off the fillets and it's a fine piece of fish.

    Absolutely remove the red. I do like some crappie fillets. But some properly cleaned and fried catfish nuggets are mighty tasty as well.

    Caught 2 more cats today , same size ……..kayaking. green chartruese twister tail jig

    tossed them back.

    maybe i’ll keep one if we get any more thx
