I wish Ohio would do the same. The wake boaters have gotten out of hand IMHO.
Not sure if all has seen this new SC law so I copied it to post here. After the killing of the guy on a pontoon this past week maybe this law may help so this won't happen again in SC.

New law increases distance limits between a boat, docks in many S.C. waters, prohibits wake surfing within 200 feet
A new law signed into effect March 14 by Gov. Henry Dargan McMaster establishes on most of South Carolina’s major reservoirs a new 100-foot distance limit that boats underway must observe when approaching a dock, a person in the water or an anchored vessel.
The new law, which doubles the previous distance of 50 feet, applies to the waters of Lake Greenwood, Lake Hartwell, Lake Jocassee, Lake Keowee, Lake Marion, Lake Monticello, Lake Murray, Lake Robinson, Lake Russell, Lake Secession, Lake Thurmond, Lake Wateree, Fishing Creek Reservoir, Parr Reservoir, or the portion of the Savannah River from the Interstate 20 Savannah River Bridge to the New Savannah River Bluff Lock and Dam. The 100-foot distance limit does not apply to Lake Moultrie.
The new law also prohibits “wake surfing” on all S.C. waters within 200 feet of a dock, a person in the water or an anchored watercraft. Wake surfing is defined in the new law as “a vessel that is ballasted in the stern so as to create a wake that is, or is intended to be, surfed by another person.”
Colonel A. Chisolm Frampton, SCDNR deputy director for law enforcement, said: “This is a much-needed change that will increase boating safety for all South Carolina boaters.”

That is a good law. Need more of those around
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Had one come in on me at a narrow spot in Paw CK. They waved. I gave them a double one finger salute. When they came out I videotaped them so I could call NCDNR if they came back. They didn’t come back but I was steaming. I never see anyone patrolling Wylie through the week except Mecklenburg Police Boat and it makes a wake worse than the Wake Boats. I don’t seen anything changing. Hope I’m wrong.

Great idea. But who will enforce it. Like Tackleboat said you never see law enforcement on Wylie. Guess we can do our own enforcement till they showup?

Glad to see this and thank you for posting it. I hope it will apply to Lake Wylie folks. Just had a pontoon go between us the other day. The foolish old man went between us and the bank. About a 50-foot distance with a wake. I just about some people.

If was going to round up a load of stupid people, the lake is where I’d go. As bad as I hate government regulations, a boat driver’s license would not make me mad.

If elected, I plan to pass such a bill including proof of insurance!
What they need to do here is offer a boater education course and then an endorsement on your driver's license like they do in other states.
There's a lot of people with more money than sense and have no clue how to operate a boat/ personal watercraft safely

John and Doug just last week at the mouth of Torrance I had a visit they were doing a boat safety check. There were polite and nice to talk with. Last time I saw one was when we were dropping condos remember John.
