    Default Wylie 2/22-2/23


    Yesterday was so good I’m not posting my results. It was stupid, me and JetJockey were catching every cast. Got our limit early and quit at 1:00. We only fished one spot. Went back solo today and wow, it was way tougher. Got 39 and 20 keepers at the Honeyhole. Went to a couple more spots and finished with 54 total. Only had one 13 inch fish but had a lot of 11-12 inch fish. Keeper ratio was over 50 percent.

    I was telling JetJockey I wish you could have been with us sniping. Tuesday might have been the best day I ever had single poling. Definitely the most I ever sniped in open water. Still not seeing enough scattered fish to make me wanna troll. Schools are large and tight. It was so fast and furious I didn’t take time to get pictures of the big fish. Had a 14 1/2 and a 14 1/4.

    Man I would’ve had a ball with you guys! I found out today about them not being scattered. Trolled all morning and caught every species EXCEPT crappie. They seriously must’ve been grouped up. Didn’t even get a straggler.

    What lake are you fishing?? Figured a little further south of Wylie they would be scattering. I use to fish Greenwood and Murray and they would be 7-10 days ahead of Wylie. I’m expecting the Wylie fish to scatter and hit the creek anytime.

    I was on Wylie today up near withers cove. My wireless trolling motor has gone haywire and doesn’t steer now. So I had to sit up front of boat and slow troll spider rig while turning the motor head by hand lol! No longlining for me right now anyway unfortunately
