What exactly is the unit model number?

That appears to be a 12 pin molded plug transducer. ?

I have myself the Garmin 93sv , similar configuration, and I doubt I would attempt to shorten the 25 ft factory transducer cable .
Garmin does offer a “wire junction block “for owners who have a damaged / severed cable above the water line .

Allows you to essentially splice the two cable ends inside a waterproof housing

Have a look. You might want to confirm with Garmin first

Sounds like it would be a risk vs reward decision. If my cable was severed I would consider the block.

Another option might be get a cheaper fishfinder for the bow mount. Keep your expensive gps fishfinder at the pilots helm?
