    Default Cheated on Wylie

I ran off Norman, Wylie has been abusing me lately. Got 52 sniping with 27 over 10 inches. Kept my 20. Got a 14 3/4 inch that was suspended alone at 12 feet deep. I was 35 feet away. Took me about 10 minutes to catch that fish. That’s the hardest I’ve ever tried to catch one fish. I did learn something on that one I can use later. It wouldn’t even react to my jig. Finally I remembered one of the Pro’s say swim the jig close and then ripped it, it will wake the fish up!! Well, I did that and the next cast it followed the jig. Made a few more cast and it finally hit. Name: IMG_0855.jpg

Pretty work. I need to remember that trick. Saturday on HR I had to try hard as I could to hit them with the jig for them to react.

Tackleboat, I want you to know how much I enjoy reading your posts. Especially the sniping part. Now that sparks my interest. Maybe one of these days I can get a backseat and just enjoy the show.

That said, I think for now anyway, that I'll wait awhile before going the route of LS just because I still get a real kick out of longlining. It aint always easy for me to catch em longlining but that makes it a challenge for me which I still enjoy. I like having to find and figure out what and how the fish want the baits, and even better is finding the fish that will bite. I always enjoy going to different parts of the lake (different creeks) just to see what I can do with 'em.

LS is gonna continue getting better and better with each generation of that sonar and maybe when I get tired of the longlining style of fishing I'll hop on the wagon and begin learning how to fish all over again. Until then keep right on posting your trips and I'll continue right on reading 'em keeping me interested in your style of fishing.

Got a fishing buddy buying a place close the Hill and Russel. Gotta learn how to fish em. He’s still working and he has assigned me to find him some fish for the weekend. I’ll hit you up, I’ll need a good starting point. I trolled there about 25 years ago, can’t even remember where I went. I actually respooled my trolling rods today. Gotta do some remodeling work to earn a spot to stay. Maybe I can fish half a day and work half a day. That’s my plan anyway. I think we’d get along fine. That what I love about crappie fishin is there are so many way to git em.
