Here is a couple more. Just showing the calm to windy condition within a couple of hours of being there.
Uncle Remus ask if I would take an adventure road trip with him to Lake Moss and look around and see if it something we might want to do when other lakes were out of the question to fish. We made our plans and was set to go Friday morning at 6:45 from his house. It only a short ride to Lake Moss from there. I think it was only about 20 minutes. Way better than going to Lake Monticello with the wind reported to be gusting at 14 to 25 mph. Monticello is like Santee white caps at a moment's notice. With the winds iffy we proceeded to go to Lake Moss with high expectations. We were not disappointed with the Lake at all it is a beautiful lake. When we got there the wind was not blowing at all the water was dead calm. There were hundreds of gulls at the boat ramp to meet us with only a couple of other fishermen. Well, it was nice to be looking around in these conditions. We did not see any fish to start with and only a few here and there. I guess CounrtyboyNC has them trained to hide when strangers come around. After an hour of exploring, we gave the call to Matthew and ask him if we were in the right place to be looking around. He gave Uncle Remus some info, and we took off farther up the lake to a better area. We managed to catch two crappie a green carp. We saw a couple of guys longlining and they said it was tough for them too. This is a hidden place from a lot of people I guess because it is not thought of as a place to offer crappie fishing and it has a high pay rate per day. It is $16 per day and $80 per year. I think that once we get to know more about this lake, we will be paying the $80 bucks to fish it. I only have a couple of pictures due to me looking at the depth finder to much. We will be going back again Thanks Uncle Remus for a great day out just looking!

You called the right one, CountryBoy knows the lake for sure. I use to fish it about 15 years ago. It is the place to go to catch a 3 pounder. Other than the spring it’s tuff to catch crappie consistently. I know of 2 3 pound fish caught last spring. I weighted one of them for a guy. The picture I took didn’t do it justice. The guy was awesome and released that fish. When the word gets out they are in the creek it gets crowded. Doesn’t take but about 5-6 longline boats to choke up the whole area.

We saw stuff in 50-60 foot of water but weren't sure what was. TB did they have trees submerged there when the lake was built?
I’m not sure what they left. I remember when they built it. But didn’t see it before it was flooded. I just remember people I worked with buying lots cheap on Mud Lake.

I hope the next time we go up there we can explore in better conditions. It's tough to have dry eyes and try looking at the depth finder in the wind. Nothing but tears flowing. I don't know why they call it dry eye syndrome. Also hope we catch some fish too! Thanks for your reply back.
Tough place to fish when it’s windy you can’t get out of it and in about 2 or 3 weeks you will have to take a ticket and stand in line just to get on the lake
