    Default Catfish Report for Wylie

We had the parents in town this weekend and they wanted to try this catfish on chicken thing. We had a slow start first thing fishing SOBB. Picked up and ran NOBB and found some decent blues on a clam bed. Ended the day catching 6 (3blues, 3 channels). Biggest blue was 10 lbs and smallest was 7.5. All were PACKED with clams!!!

Nice blue. Congrats on the fishes. Looks calm out there. So how was the catfish on chicken thing? Never heard of that one.

I'm so good I don't even use a hook anymore after learning from CBNC!

    I just let Remus catch'em

Yea Dieter Melhorn turned me on to the chicken thing. Cut it into chunks and let it sit overnight in Strawberry Jello powder or Garlic Powder. There’s another YouTube channel, I think it’s Fishing Gear and Guide, where it’s a guy down on Santee that exclusively uses chicken.

LOL I must be loosing it! Heck, I KNOW Im loosing it. Me and my boy baited with chicken chunks 25 years ago. It was just the way it was written....I though catfish and chicken were cooked together somehow. Gotta laugh though...

Salt toughens the chicken up also. I used it in the Azores fishing for sheep head under a cork against the cliffs. Worked pretty good! Used chicken guts dried in the sun to catch sturgeon in Idaho.
