Stay ready with your sidearm at all times, it is the new way of living. Even in your yard.

Back when Ronnie and I used to night fish Lake Russell we always used the ramp inside Russell State Park. There was a lot going on at night around the public boat ramps and we figured the rip-rap wouldn't pay $5 to get into the park. Luckily we stayed safe. That's sad about those 3 young men. I hope the murderers are caught.

Best to carry EVERY trip. Lotsa stupid, harmful people in today’s world. Anderson, SC sheriff came to our fishing club meeting a few years ago. In SC it is legal to carry pistol when fishing. Carrying on COE property may be another issue, but as my dad says “better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.”

I think it was Ofish that told me a story about his being approached while tying his boat up after night fishing.
Not sure it was him. Whoever told me he shut them down by making it clear not to approach him on the dock. "Clear" being the operative word.
Let Ofart tell it if it was him

Sadly, these types of things are happening as people are just going about their normal business. Walking down the street, down a sidewalk in town, driving to the doctor, etc. I understand your thoughts and respect your idea of how to deal with life as we now know it. I on the other hand refuse to let anyone or any evil attempt to control me to be successful. I was raised to treat people how I want to be treated, fear God and love your neighbors. I was also taught that if you can't get along, sometimes you have to get it on. They may get me some day but I promise, they will have to earn it. Be wise, vigilant, prepared and willing to be a survivor. Stay safe out there...

I always keep a loaded pistol on or near me whenever I am at any boat ramp and a 12 gauge shotgun loaded with 00 buckshot posted up in the rod locker just in case.

Yeah, we definitely need to continue to defund the police. After all most states have already defunded the state highway patrol and wildlife enforcement commissions such that you hardly ever see a game warden or state patrolman in the state of NC. I understand that most counties only have one or two highway patrolman and one or two wildlife enforcement officers to cover entire counties. This defunding effort has been in the making by liberally controlled government entities for the last many years and is only getting worse, only because they are running out of all the other places to steal money from. The answer to the crime and lawlessness problem is simple: MORE LAW ENFORCEMENT... NOT LESS!!!
