My daughter wanted to go fishing and was coming up on my Grandson one year mark since he passed away so we decided to go fishing and remember those good times fishing with Arron. We told stories and went to a few places we had fished together. Did the DR Pepper and candy bar that Arron loved to do. We even played his favorite song Drift Away by Dobie Gray.
Perch were hard to find did find some places with perch. Now is the weird thing. All morning did not catch one perch. I wanted so much for her to catch fish because we don't get to fish a lot together. We still had a great time she drove the boat around. We talked about her other son Jesse and he is 5. Arron was 6 when I started my life fishing with him every chance we had. Man Arron loved fishing and had no problems getting him up early in the morning. So we decided to start Jesse on fishing.

Did meet with Charles a couple of times. He was doing well with his friend in back of boat catching perch. Charles was killing the bass with bass minnows and drop shot. He had 12 when I pulled up once. His friend pulling up perch and Charles was bringing up one bass as we talked. I have seen Charles kill those bass on drop shot where the perch where. Charles knows lake Wylie like nobody else well maybe Rango. We both agree that the perch seem to be 3 weeks ahead of the starting migration out of creeks to mouths. All in all still a great day just talking with daughter. Maybe next time we will have that 60 day perch.
