Is it over? Out of 8 trips this spring, I caught 4 crappie. Each about 11".

I’d try another lake or a different technique, but I fished today vertical and only caught 6. So maybe someone with better results can advise. What you say BrettW??

The blacks were all but through around the first/second week in April and I'd suspect the whites are done by now too (Clark Hill Lake). I haven't been in a couple weeks though.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!KHNC, squirrel dog LIKED above posthave-a-crappie-day thanked you for this post
This year it seemed to happen pretty quick (mid March). I would say 95% of the fish are done with black crappie and white. You will come across one that is really late and got eggs but it is rare this point. 10-15 ft seems to be the sweet spot for the bigger fish near where they spawned right now. (Docks and open water) Hope this helps!
