Tom and I went to Murray this morning to try the Perch bite. Sure looks like the winter pattern has started. We never made it past the first spot barely out of the landing.
Underwater island in 35 FOW. All mine came on Flexit Spoons.
I caught several on my 7/8oz spoon but was missing a lot of bites. I noticed the shad one spit up was smaller than ones I'd seen them feeding on at Monticello so I switched to my smallest Flex it and my hookups increased a good bit. Tom caught most of his on a 3 jig rig like Comalander uses.
Got my PB today. 1 Lb 6 oz White Perch. Tom got one almost same size and many over a pound. We kept 17 and threw back as many short Stripers.
Wind got up and water was coming over the bow so we quit at 9 AM. I made it back in time to join my wife and 2 oldest GKs. for breakfast before they left after a weekend visit. Can't have much better morning than that.
(The board in the picture is 12" wide for reference. )
