If that perch is indeed 2 lbs. it will be a new state record if certified. The current record is 1 pound 15.84 ounces. Congrats on the fine catch!

One rod, one jig, one fish at a time.
im sorry for not keeping up with c.c and whats been going on. personal matters puts a stop to a lot of things a man loves to do
that being said according to 2 different scales the perch weighs just a touch over 2 lb. problem now is where and how to get it certified
I called DNR but nobody was there a recording said they would call me back but have not heard from them yet.
problem is I caught it Friday evening DNR was closed sat. and sun. wouldn't answer or call me back mon. how long do you have to get it checked in and where do you get it done I have it froze now . will that disqualify the fish.
thank you fellers for any help you can give me
Fish tremble at the sound of my name
That's a whopper and indeed the new state record if certified. I don't know the answer to your questions Uncle Remus, but I sure hope the fish still qualifies and you get your record in the books!
Hooking up every chance I get!
Do have a pic of it weighed ? Good luck, and if they certify it, its takes long time before the confirm it. I think they even do a dna test to the fish. Again good luck man

Uncle Remus, on the computer print a copy of the form for a record fish and have it signed by witnesses and the fish should be weighed on a scale that is certified in a store with store owners name. That way DNR biologist can recertify you steps to produce a record fish. Good luck! Hope you can get it done without a problem.
Also it has to be 3 ounces more than current record to be a new record I believe. That's all on the form when you read it!
Dont get it near a metal detector!
