Look for suspended fish and if you don't see fish keep looking.
I am an avid crappie fisherman and usually catch a limit most every time I go. With that being said I am a one pole fisherman but Saturday I tried longlining for the first time. I only caught 7 fish all day where I am used to catching lots of numbers of fish. What I would like to know is what do you look for on your graph when you go into a spot or creek to determine the best area to longline and how long do you give an area before you move to another one. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Also I have read the longlining sticky post. Thanks
Make sure you got the right setup for whatever the water depth is too and where the fish are suspended. (trolling speed, jig weight, etc) I have had instances where using 1/32 jigs and only catch a few but switch to 1/16 and catch a limit.

Thanks for yall's input. Where I fished Saturday I saw plenty bait and figured the fish was in with the bait so I will look for fish more. Will they be schooled up or scattered? Also how much time do you give a certain area before you move. Thanks again.
