    Default Wylie 2-2-19

Back out on wylie this morning. Boat traffic was something else. Looked like a lot of the boats were after cats.

We trolled around for perch & crappies with minnows. Tried Torrence creek, Little A & Big Allison. Caught perch at several spots but most were small. Finally found one spot in Little Allison were the perch( some good size) were biting real good for about an hour, then bite cut off.

We ended up with about 70 perch & 2 cats.

Charles, do you ever use spoons or always live bait? Nice catch.

Usually, I start out using spoons while my partner tries minnows. Today, I had several long rods rigged up for tight lining using minnows & just never got around to trying spoons. I do catch a lot of perch & bass on spoons. Lately, I have been trying out spoons with rattles in them. They seem to be work great.

Also, I usually try a couple rods with cut perch. The cut strips of perch are a lot harder for the perch to steal.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
