    Default New Fish Finder Bought

Well I wound up with the Helix 10 SI gen 2 for about $1200. It was a floor display model with everything I hope.

I haven't dug into everything but I it has 2 cable connections, the DC power and the transducer. I sure hope I can use the old transducer cable to pull in a

pull cord to fish through the new cable. Any suggestions on this task? The transducer looks like a shoe sole. Hope I don't hit anything with it.

One thing I did notice is there is no inline fuse holder for the power cable. Anybody have a recommendation for a current rating as I think it needs to have

    some short circuit protection.

    Thanks in advance.
    I don't fish because I want to, I fish because I HAVE to !

    Moma tried real hard.

I have the same unit. Mine new did not come with fuse holder. I bought one and used a 3 amp fuse. I believe the manual notes a 4 amp fuse.

Wait till you try to find a slow blow fuse!!!😳 the fuse holder you install must be for a glass fuse. Had to order my fuse from Amazon. Local parts stores looked at me like I was crazy. I think you’ll like it once you get good at all the menus. I have the 9.

Congrats. Those must be real nice depth finders. I'm jealous.

You going to be around Rock Hill tomorrow afternoon? I got a inline fuse for glass tube yesterday that some one was throwing away. I 'll give it to you if you want it. Has plenty of lead wire on one side to connect to your power line and enough to connect to the battery. I also have the fiber glass feeder pole to pull line with if you want to borrow it. I'm jealous of you now. You beat me to a good buy!
I know you'll enjoy it and if you don't I'll let you give it to me. Good for you on a great finder!

Be sure to put the fuse at the battery not the DF. The fuse is to protect the wiring not the unit. Common misunderstanding about this. This is especially true for the trolling motor.
