Around the 8 minute mark I explain and show how I hold it! Jighead between by index finger and my thumb.

    Hey
I think you said you were using 1/32 size, then 1/16, did you change size mid video?
    Thanks

No sir, I said it is easiest to learn shooting docks using a 6 ft rod and 1/32 jighead. Me and aj both used 1/16 jig heads the length of the video

In extremely cold water I will start with a 1/32 and try to let the bait fall slow as possible. If the fish are really deep I will not use anything less than 1/16. During the spawn when depth isn’t as important I’m using a 1/32 to keep it in the strike zone longer. But ultimately I let the fish decide Dock shooting 101

I was taught by 2 of the best, Crappie Pappy and Don G. fishing on Watts Bar in Tn.
I'm a line watcher,Made a report today on the NC board, nothing like shooting them docks!

is the rod a light or medium, I bought a few spider rods from Ed. I think I want to try this, any special reel you are using.

our docks are not the same, we have rows at a marina. Not sue if the effect would be the same but there are a bunch of pontoon boats.

I would need to go early or super late when people are not on the docks

thanks for video also, when is the next one coming out that you mentioned

I’m not exactly sure what the 7ft rod is. Guessing from the action I would say it’s a medium light. For the reel it doesn’t really matter as long as it has a smooth drag and holds 4-6 lb line, though I do like the abu Garcia Cardinal reels. As for the dock I think it matters more where the dock is as to what type of dock. I have found them on marina docks before. The next video should be out by this weekend if the weather allows me to make one! Thanks for the feedback!

Best video i have seen shooting docks as far as seeing fish. Tell us about what hb unit you were using. The fish jump out at you with no problem. Those fish were stacked and i don't find them stacked that much. Will you see scattered fish that good. Have been looking at a garmin livesope but if the hb hilix will show fish that good may rethink.
