If you are looking at locating structure that may hold fish, I'll suggest taking so time to troll crankbaits. I started out last year and had never been on Wylie outside of a kayak. So trying to find fishable structure, I would put out three or four rods with small cranks on them. Set the trolling motor around 1.2-1.5 mph and troll different coves and creeks. When you see something on the graph, mark it. I even make notes in my phone: Waypoint XYZ is in 25 FOW. This has helped me over time to become more familiar with the lake, on top of that it's a really fun way to fish.
Also, I'm a big data guy. So depth, bait colors, waypoints, structure, clarity and temp are all key in having productive trips. My advice, keep a log book. Even record the bad days. Anyway, just my two cents. Good Luck to you!!!
