It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!STUMP HUNTER LIKED above post

I like lake Russell but have not went back for that very reason as my last trip to Felkel ramp glass in parking lot and buzzards ripping rubber mouldings off my truck. It can happen anywhere but more likely l think thorough the week days when not many people using ramps.
I was fishing trees at Hesters Bottoms boat ramp on Clark hill back when the water was down over 9 feet and could see parking lot when a car drove up guy got out and went straight to my truck and looked in window as l hollered hello and the guy got back in his car and left.
I have been to several remote boat ramp locations on these lakes and be the only vehicle there that day but have stopped using most of them and try to find a state park if possible.

One of our daughters and son in laws have a lot on Russell on the Ga side. They had a nice lot and was planning to build but after trouble stealing they changed their mind. Cameras need to be set up at these places to catch the hoodlums. Probably is not that many, just a few causing a lot of trouble. Our son in law tried to get the few residents there to secure the entrance but they would not cooperate. It is a shame because it is a nice lake and good fishing. I guess the best solution would be to have a old truck that looked like crap but would run good, something pulled out of salvage you didn't care about and just use it for fishing. Make a homemade trailer out of scrap that looked the same,, really ugly, mismatched flakey painted car rims, but would work. You could park it anywhere then. If I find a truck that is suitable, just may go that route and have peace of mind.
