    Default Monticello Perch Jerk 10/31

First time on Monticello, went to the bird and loons. Caught perch on spoons and jig double rigs in 35-45 ft. Had some of the biggest I ever caught. Caught 100+ and kept 65. Caught a lot of doubles. Tried out a new thumping stick to beat the bottom of the boat!! I’m a believer!!!

I was on Lake Wacamaw once and a man was beating the bottom of his boat. I asked what he was doing and he said, "Calling the perch." And he slayed them. I have fished all my life and that was the first I had ever heard of that. Even though I do not intentionally fish for perch, he made a believer out of me. Glad you got into them.

They’re is a guy on YouTube that’s fishes Monticello and Murray regularly. And he is a “boat beater”. You can find him on there if you want to check out his videos, his name is Steve Comalander. He beats the boat also when striper/hybrid fishing.

My stick is the Steve Comalander Edition. 😜😜😜 I like his videos. We tried several of his tactics and they work.

That had to be a fun time. Those boogers are a blast to catch, especially on light tackle. Pretty tasty as well. Good job
