We put in at the Catawba park ramp this morning. Caught perch for bait in about 30 minutes. Back over to the NC side of the lake. We also had 12 herring that I kept on ice over night. Started drifting using the cut herring. Could not keep the channel cats off the hooks. We finally caught 5 blues & 1 flathead about noon on the cut perch. Biggest blue was about 20 lbs & the flathead about 15 lbs. Most of the channel cats were between 3 to 8 lbs.

We ended up with 31 cats in all. Not a bad day.

Still have not been able to break the 25 lb mark. Try to do better next time.

Way to work them Mr. Charles! Glad you were able to fish today. Must have been nice with no heat or sun beating down on you!
