Default Vacation in Hilton Head, Need fishing

Hello there from the Tennessee forum. I'll be in Hilton Head from June 23rd - July 1st. First vacation with the wife's family and I am desperately looking for some fishing opportunities in the area. Bass, crappie, and bluegill fishing preferably. Any advice would be greatly appreciated or if there are any guides in the area would love to hear from you also. I wouldn't mind driving a little ways to satisfy my urge. Thanks!

A lot of the trout died down there over the winter. I am still learning the SW game in that area. But, if you want to try for trout and redfish, there can be some good fishing around the pinckney island area. I fished it a few times last year in july and caught trout and a few reds. Reds are hard to come by if you arent a local to the area. PLENTY of sharks tho. If you fish shrimp or mud minnows you cant beat those damn things off your hook.

Shark fishing is fun if you just wanna feel the pull. That said....I prefer using a med/heavy bass rod and catch 'em up to the length of your leg. Any cutbait will work....even frozen squid bought from Walmart. If you wanna keep any just know your species and what the law allows for you can keep. And...don't stick your hand in their mouth to get your hook back. he he he

It seems freshwater fishing is limited on the island. If you google freshwater fishing near Hiltonhead, results were still majority salt water with the exception of Jarvis creek.

Take a trip Cobia fishing. Not as good as fried crappie but good eating.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

Yes, that's what I'm starting to figure out. I haven't done much saltwater fishing in my time but I have caught some nice flounder in myrtle beach.

Try Broad River Pier. It's on 278 between Beaufort and Hilton Head. Its an old bridge section nicely made into a pier with real bathroom, picnic tables, umbrellas, etc. Use fresh shrimp(no frozen 100 yr old Cape Point Bait Company brand stuff nor that pickled Killer Bee brand junk either) on one of dem wire armed crappie rigs size 6 hooks with 1 or 2 oz bell or pyramid sinker
Oh I could wrestle a monster fish
