    Default Greenwood crappie spawn

Is it over? I live an hour away. It's been a rough spawn for a guy like me who is shore bound.

So what I'm asking is should I fish or cut grass? Thanks!

id definitely be fishing then cutting grass. never know what your going to catch. been a rough year for the spawn with crazy weather. ive managed to catch my first crappie of the year night fishing at hartwell off brown road at 3am. If nothing else hit the bridges and deep water brush piles and your sure to find some crappie(or a load of white perch) but still better then cutting grass imo.

Havent been in about 3 weeks but it was pretty much done then. A few small fish still had eggs but the majority were laid out. So I am sure its post spawn fish now. I wouldn't let that stop me from going though.

IMO the spawn is over and has been for a couple/three weeks now. That certainly doesn't mean the fishing is over. You just have to locate the fish and what it is theyre feeding on. Might take you some time to find as usually it's a 'localized' spot theyre feeding at instead of just everywhere like during the spawn. The fish are hungry and are gonna eat. The water temps is just in the upper 70's so catching fish isn't all that hard. Once it hits 90* then I'm through but until then I'll keep fishing and if I have any luck at all I'll keep catching.
