    Default Not crappie but !

Hit Wylie for a short trip Sat. Found fish soon as we got there. Water was 62 at 8:00 a.m. But warmed up fast. We kept 10 crappie with several throwbacks. Ton of perch. And 7 of these critters. This was the biggest we got to the boat. Weighed 14.lb 2 oz. on my digital scale. Not bad for a 1/16 jig head on 4.lb.line with a 12 ft. crappie rod. Had lot of fun not many pics.

Maybe not the intended target species, but sounds like plenty of action was had, congrats on the fine day!

Thanks for the report! Those cats can surely be a battle on crappie tackle.

They are fun on light tackle. They are also the reason I switched over to 6 & 8 lb test line on my crappie reels.
